The Anton Schneider "Hearty Homestead" Cuckoo Clock.
The clock is a classic, large-scale Black Forest chalet design, crafted from rich, dark-stained linden wood. The roof is layered with detailed wooden shingles, and a decorative carved leaf and berry motif frames the entire house.
The central focus below the clock face is a vibrant diorama of a farmer's family hard at work, each figure carved with exquisite detail and painted by hand.
The Wood Chopper: On one side, a burly man in lederhosen and a worn hat is forever mid-swing. His axe is poised above a log on a chopping block. His movement is robust and rhythmic to the cuckoo call, a testament to the constant need for warmth and fuel.
The Yarn Spinner: On the other side, seated on a small bench, is the spinner. She is dressed in a traditional dirndl, her focus entirely on her work. Before her is a functioning miniature spinning wheel. Tiny clothesline draped over a basket next to the spinner is the finished product: a small, beautifully knitted coat.
The Cuckoo's Call: The small shutters above the clock face snap open. The carved wooden cuckoo bird emerges, bowing gracefully to its audience. It calls out its signature two-note chime, clear and resonant, once for each hour.
Simultaneously, the diorama springs to life: The Wood Chopper's arm begins its labor, swinging the axe down onto the log in a steady, chopping motion.
The Spinning Wheel turns! Its tiny wheel rotates, and the spinner's foot gently pumps the treadle. It’s a mesmerizing, delicate motion that captures the endless cycle of creating something from raw material.
The music plays, the cuckoo calls, the chopper chops, and the spinner spins. It is a perfect, harmonious ballet of sound and motion, illustrating the beautiful, unending work that sustains a family.
This Anton Schneider clock is more than a timepiece; it's a storybook scene, a mechanical masterpiece, and a heartfelt tribute to the values of hard work and love.
Anton SCHNEIDER GmbH & Co. KG | Where inspiration and passion meet timeless tradition.
Our story began in 1848 in a humble Schonach farmhouse, where founder Anton Schneider dedicated himself to the art of the cuckoo clock. Six generations later, that same passion resonates from our historic workshop in the Black Forest, our home since 1952. As a family-owned enterprise, we are proud to uphold this heritage, crafting high-value cuckoo clocks that carry our legacy into the future.

Between 1952 and 1985, our original workshop underwent seven separate expansions, each one strategically increasing our capacity for precision clockmaking. Today, our facility stands as one of the most modern and extensive cuckoo clock factories in the Black Forest.
Yet, despite this growth, we have vigilantly preserved our most cherished tradition: the art of valuable hand carving. In recent years, we have not only maintained this practice but significantly elevated it. This commitment has demanded the intensive training of a new generation of woodcarvers; a program we personally oversee to ensure our legacy of craftsmanship continues unimpeded.

A Legacy Carved in Time, Since 1848
For generations, the Schneider family has devoted itself to perfecting the art of the cuckoo clock. We masterfully blend impeccable precision with generations of craftsmanship and creative vision, crafting bespoke heirlooms for families across the globe.
Nestled in the heart of the scenic Black Forest, our factory has been our home since the very beginning. Within these tradition-steeped walls, we harmonize time-honored techniques with the latest technology, ensuring each piece honors the past while being crafted for the future.
This enchanted forest is both our muse and our raw material. As the historic epicenter of woodcraft, our methods are a cherished inheritance, refined by each generation. Every Schneider clock is thus a testament to deep-rooted tradition and the timeless beauty of our natural world.
This philosophy is deeply ingrained in our home, the town of Schonach, which has lived in harmony with its environment for centuries. This enduring covenant between humanity and nature—a balance nurtured since time immemorial—is the very soul of our designs, making each clock a symbol of this eternal promise.
